Medieval Japan and Europe comparison
Similarities and Differences:
1. Began about the same time.
2. Both Japan & Europe were divided up into feudal states.
3. In each Feudal system their was a "king" who had "feudal lords" who pledged allegiance.
4. Development of both the notions of chivalry & correct conduct. (Japan: Bushido).
5. Had different "Alliances" competing for land and to prove the best around.
6. The Europeans punished to learn their lessons as the Japanese often straight away gave the death penalty.
7. The Japanese ate with care and made not much mess while the European's ate with their hands and made plenty of mess with their food.
8. the samurai , his wife and children were expected to die willingly to protect the life and honour of their feudal lord. If this was not followed they would be killed. The European Knights did not have this policy.
